Presentation of volumetric continuous biomass gasification (VCBG) technology in front of more than 100 participants at the workshop
“Firstly, I chose this technology because it is good for health!”
This is not only the sharing of Mrs. Hai, Chairman of Dai Tu District Tea Association but also the common opinion of many cooperatives in Thai Nguyen when talking about biomass gasification technology.
The benefits of technology in tea drying have received a lot of interest from cooperatives and small businesses at the workshop "Introduction of volumetric continuous biomass gasification technology - Turning waste into energy in tea production and processing” on the morning of April 26.
“It turns out that this technology is not as complicated as I thought,” a representative of Hoa Dong Cooperative shared after observing the process of operating biomass-gasification stoves for tea drying.
Processing households posed several questions related to techniques and methods for application, and expressed their desire to connect with the project as well as apply the technology to optimize costs. Mr. Nguyen Hung Cuong, BEST project manager, said that the project will transfer technology to local mechanical facilities. After that, people can easily buy the equipment and improve their capacity through training on how to use this equipment.
Through dialogue, the tripartite ecosystem between enterprises/cooperatives, mechanical facilities, and biomass suppliers in Thai Nguyen gradually starts working out, initially providing full equipment and fuel for businesses/cooperatives using biomass gasification technology. It will take time to see an improvement in output and product selling prices compared to when using manual corrugated iron furnaces burning with wood and coal.
Biomass gasification technology is a pioneering step in the energy transition of Thai Nguyen province in particular and the country in general, especially after Vietnam's commitment to reduce emissions at COP26. Biomass fuel sources also have the potential to be a clean energy source to replace charcoal burning, in line with the country's goals of sustainable development and green growth.
