The project provides hands-on coaching for core members of its partners on developing and implementing gender equality policy recommendations. The project promotes evidenced-based policy briefs to the Ministry of Labour, invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), as well as guidelines and tools on mainstreaming gender sensitivity and gender responsiveness into government-led COVID-19 recovery programmes.
Objectives
Social organizations, particularly women’s rights groups, have increased and effective participation in government-led COVID-19 recovery programmes, with a focus on the protection of the most vulnerable populations.
- To enhance social organizations capacity on policy advocacy so they are able to influence government programmes to include the most vulnerable populations.
- To provide hands-on coaching for core members of the Network of Action for Migrant Workers (Mnet) and the Network for the Prevention and Response to Gender-based Violence (GBVnet) on developing and implementing gender-transformative advocacy and influencing plans.
- To advocate for MOLISA to include effective models and evidence-based policy briefs for GBV-victim support services into government-led Covid-19 recovery programmes and relevant legal frameworks.
The project targets
15,525 GBV victims, which includes 10,958 women and 4,567 men.
