We are a part of a goal movement that aims to bring about bigger impacts in poverty reduction and fight against inequality. In Vietnam, Oxfam is one of the leading international non-governmental organisations (INGOs), especially in rural development, disaster risk reduction and humanitarian response, civil society development, ethnic minorities, and women’s empowerment.

About “social mobility”

Social mobility is defined as a change in the social status of an individual or household in the society. Social mobility can refer to a change in an adult compared to his or her parents (“inter-generational social mobility”) or a change over the years in a life cycle (“intra-generational social mobility”). Recent international researches from America, Canada and OECD countries show that social mobility is a measure of equality of opportunities and reflection of how opportunities can be translated into economic and social outcomes.
