On February 29th, the Marketing for Development - M4D Awards 2023 ceremony was organized in Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate businesses and marketing campaigns making significant strides towards sustainable development.
Oxfam is proud to support awards related to Gender Equality, honoring 8 trailblazing businesses for their endeavors in challenging gender stereotypes and promoting gender equality through innovative marketing communication practices. From television commercials normalizing female leadership, comic books inspiring individuals to defy gender norms, to visual identity package raising awareness of women and girls facing violence, each initiative radiated passion and purpose.

"Gender equality fuels not only sustainable development but is also the core of societal progress. As businesses embrace this ethos in their marketing endeavors, they not only cultivate robust, innovative brands but also assert themselves as pioneers in shaping a fair and sustainable society," shared Ms. Le Thuy Hanh, a member of the M4D judging panel and Program Manager of Gender Equality & Women’s Agency, Oxfam in Vietnam.
The event was attended by over 200 delegates from businesses, social organizations, and the marketing community. In addition to the Gender Equality category, M4D awarded prizes to 14 socially responsible campaigns and 8 exemplary carbon credit initiatives.
Oxfam collaborates with businesses to eliminate gender stereotypes and promote gender equality in marketing/advertising activities. This is part of the “Youth Address Gender Stereotypes and Promote Gender Equality in Vietnam” project, funded by the European Union, implemented by Oxfam in Vietnam and Consultative Institute for Socio-Economic Development of Rural and Mountainous Areas (CISDOMA) in collaboration with the Vietnam Journalists Association, RED Communication, and TUVA Communication.
