CONSULTANCY SERVICES: Recruitment of (a team of) consultants to conduct an assessment of low-emission rice farming practices and technical transfer capacity in the Mekong Delta
Oxfam in Vietnam is currently seeking a qualified (team of) consultants/consulting firm to carry out an assessment of low-emission rice farming practices and technical transfer capacity in the Mekong Delta, under the project “Greening Our Rice: Gender-Just, Low-Carbon Rice Value Chains in Vietnam (GoRice)”.
The objective of this consultancy package is to provide comprehensive evidence and analysis on the level of adoption of Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA), to identify appropriate models and needs for strengthening technical extension capacity in order to promote sustainable, low-emission, and climate-resilient rice production in the project areas.
The consultancy aims to achieve the following specific objectives:
- Assess the current status of CSA adoption in rice production
- Evaluate the drivers, barriers, and economic, social, and environmental impacts related to CSA
- Assess the current capacity of the local agricultural extension system and identify capacity-building needs, including knowledge and skills in transferring CSA-based rice farming techniques and emission reduction practices among local extension workers
The assignment will be conducted in An Giang, Can Tho, and Vinh Long provinces.
