In the first call for proposals, the "Project on supporting women-led green initiatives" (PWG), funded by the European Union (EU) through Oxfam, has received 119 applications from 107 organizations.
Eighteen initiatives were selected for funding by an independent review panel based on their high scores and alignment with PWG’s criteria.
The theme of the first grant call of PWG project is “Raising awareness and contributing to improving green livelihoods, accessing decent jobs and increasing participation and contribution to policy development in response to climate change, disaster risk reduction and environmental protection for women”.
The PWG Project Management Unit and Oxfam in Vietnam would like to congratulate the 18 organizations and initiatives receiving the first grant! Here are 22 selected initiatives:
- Enhancing Green Livelihoods and the Role of Ethnic Minority Women in Mountainous Areas through Cultivation, Processing, and Commercialization of Indigenous Tangerine (Citrus reticulata) in Muong Khuong and Pha Long Communes, Lao Cai Province - Institute for Scientific Research and Application

- Promoting women-led green transformation in A Luoi District, Hue City: Transitioning from traditional farming models to organic aquaculture and medicinal plant cultivation linked to the market – Centre for Social Research & Development
- Promoting green livelihoods for women, especially women with disabilities, through the development of value chains for recycled handicraft products in Hue City – The Center for Highland Natural Resource Governance Research
- Improving the livelihoods of ethnic minority women through an inclusive medicinal plant value chain adapted to climate change in A Luoi District, Thua Thien Hue – Centre for Rural Communities Research and Development
- Green aquaculture – circular economy initiated by women fishers in Hue city – Hue Fisheries Assiociation
- Developing women-led supply chains of environmentally friendly craft village products to serve service and tourism activities in Phong Dien Town, Hue City – Center for Knowledge Co-creation and Development Research
- Green livelihood transformation led by women in the lowland acid grassland of the Mekong region in Ninh Quoi commune, Bac Lieu province –Mekong Institute, Can Tho University
