Background
The project provides hands-on coaching for core members of its partners on developing and implementing advocacy and influencing plans. The project promotes evidenced-based policy briefs to the Ministry of Labour, invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), as well as guidelines and tools on mainstreaming gender sensitivity and gender responsiveness into government-led COVID-19 recovery programmes. This work includes advocating for integrating effective models of GBV victim support services into relevant legal frameworks.
Objectives
Social organizations, particularly women’s rights groups, have increased and effective participation in government-led Covid-19 recovery programmes, with a focus on the protection of the most vulnerable populations.
Specific Outcomes
- To enhance social organizations capacity on policy advocacy so they are able to influence government programmes to include the most vulnerable populations.
- To provide hands-on coaching for core members of the Network of Action for Migrant Workers (Mnet) and the Network for the Prevention and Response to Gender-based Violence (GBVnet) on developing and implementing gender-transformative advocacy and influencing plans.
- To advocate for MOLISA to include effective models and evidence-based policy briefs for GBV-victim support services into government-led Covid-19 recovery programmes and relevant legal frameworks.
The project targets
15,525 GBV victims, which includes 10,958 women and 4,567 men.
