Oxfam là một liên minh quốc tế, một phong trào toàn cầu vì một thế giới bình đẳng, không còn nghèo đói và bất công. Oxfam Quốc tế gồm 21 tổ chức Oxfam thành viên làm việc tại 79 quốc gia. Tầm nhìn của Oxfam hướng tới một thế giới công bằng và bền vững. Một thế giới nơi con người và Trái đất là trung tâm của nền kinh tế. Nơi phụ nữ và trẻ em gái không phải đối mặt với bạo lực và phân biệt đối xử. Nơi khủng hoảng khí hậu được kiểm soát. Và nơi hệ thống quản trị có sự tham gia của người dân và các lãnh đạo có tinh thần trách nhiệm.

Oxfam tại Việt Nam tin rằng nghèo đói, bất công và bất bình đẳng sẽ giảm khi có sự tương tác giữa công dân tích cực, chính quyền và khu vực tư nhân có trách nhiệm. Đây cũng là nền tảng cho sự phát triển của Việt Nam. Oxfam tại Việt Nam hướng tới vận động dịch chuyển từ mô hình phát triển dựa vào tăng trưởng sang mô hình phát triển Nền Kinh tế Nhân văn, đặt con người và Trái đất lên trên lợi nhuận.

Where the climate crisis is contained. And where governance systems are inclusive and allow for those in power to be held to account.

How We Work

How we work is as important as what we do. A combination of six approaches make us and our impact distinctive. Feminist principles guide us in all our work, helping to ensure our programmes uphold the dignity and rights of everyone. We believe in people power; we amplify the voices and actions of people that experience poverty and injustice, and work with those who fight for their causes. Thinking and acting locally and globally, we build coalitions within and between regions and from the local to the global level.

We provide enhanced humanitarian action, working with communities at risk of conflict and disasters before, during, and after crises. Our work to ensure digital rights and space for all offers new ways for people, communities, and decision-makers to connect, learn and mobilise. And we seek systemic change; we tackle not the symptoms of injustice but the systems that sustain them. We campaign for genuine, durable change.

Oxfam in Vietnam

Oxfam undertook its first activities in Vietnam in 1955 and since the late 1980s we have been implementing long-term development projects across the country. Although Vietnam achieved lower middle-income status in 2010, rising inequality threatens decades of progress. Disadvantaged groups, such as women, ethnic minorities and the rural poor lack access to resources and economic opportunities. A lack of investment in education, healthcare and civic engagement for these groups further undermines their prospects for a better future.  

Oxfam in Vietnam believes that a reduction in poverty, injustice, and inequality will occur through the interaction between active citizens, accountable states and responsible private sector, and that it is fundamental to Vietnam’s development. Oxfam in Vietnam contributes to a shift from the current growth-based development model to a Human Economy that cares about People and the Planet.
