On December 02nd, 2023, Vietnam Agrifood Virtual Expo 2023 was officially inaugurated in Hue city.

The expo is held on the Info Hub for Vietnamese Agricultural Export website, continuing efforts within the framework of the SFV - Export project, aiming to enhance export capacity for Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises in the agricultural products industry.

The expo organized by Oxfam in Vietnam, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Thừa Thiên Huế Development Research Institute (HueIDS) is attracting the participation of 80 domestic businesses, along with many buyers from Europe and major markets, trade promotion agencies and international buyers associations. Virtual fairs have the advantage of helping businesses and visitors save costs and time, and still have an effective trade connection experience through professional, intuitive online booths.

According to Mr. Cung Trong Cuong, Director of Thua Thien Hue Institute for Development Studies (HueIDS), the expo in particular and the SFV-Export Project in general are a good model for businesses that want to export products to high-value markets. Hue businesses have many good and quality products yet they face challenges due to the absence of a robust support mechanism. Consequently, they are unable to export these products. Mr. Cuong emphasizes the significant need for and interest in participating in similar projects among these businesses.

The expo will last until December 12, 2023. The opening ceremony is within the framework of the Conference "Connecting investment and trade for businesses" taking place in Hue City. The expo is part of the project "Enhancing the Export Competitiveness of Vietnamese Small and Medium Enterprises in Spice, Fruit and Vegetable Sub-Sectors (SFV-Export)” funded by the European Union.
