On September 14th, at the Vietnam International Sourcing 2023 Event Series, Oxfam introduced to hundreds of participants the SFV-AgriExport Info Hub, a platform connecting European buyers with Vietnamese businesses selling agricultural products.
SFV-AgriExport will connect hundreds of importers from major markets with thousands of Vietnamese businesses, through a list of Business profiles, Virtual fairs, and many useful connections with Committees, domestic and foreign Associations. The portal will provide monthly market information and dozens of free courses for businesses.
“This is an all-in-one platform. SFV AgriExport supports Vietnamese businesses in proactively updating their knowledge, skills, and seek business opportunities. We are working with authorities and professional partners to enrich this platform, and make long-term plans so that SFV AgriExport is always updated and vibrant even after the project ends.” Ms. Hoang Le Trang, SFV-Export Project Manager, shared at the "Workshop on bringing Vietnamese agricultural products and processed food to international distribution system", within this Event Series.

Compliance with European market regulations on food safety, traceability, sustainable and ethical practices was repeatedly emphasized by experts at the conference. Digital transformation solutions such as SFV AgriExport are expected to improve the readiness of Vietnamese businesses to meet the requirements of major markets.
Stating at the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thao Hien - Deputy Director of the European - American Market Department - Ministry of Industry and Trade said: "Sustainable development and environmental protection are an inevitable and unified trend in every market, especially in Europe. Vietnamese businesses need to be proactive when they want to export to high-value markets."
Mr. Le Thanh Hoa, Deputy Director of the Department of Quality, Processing, and Market Development, offered many solutions for Vietnamese exporting enterprises. In particular, he emphasized the need to update market information regulations, especially on food safety certifications. In addition, businesses need to strengthen their sustainable raw material areas in working closely with farmers, and apply digital transformation solutions, etc.
Mr. Vincent Gothknecht, representative from I.SCHROEDER KG.(GMBH&CO) in Vietnam, Europe's leading agricultural product importer, believed that sustainability and traceability are the most important factors for European buyers. "They want to know how, where, and when the products were grown, whether the practices were harmful to the environment, whether farmers and workers were paid a fair wage, etc.
Vietnam is always at the top of our minds when we want to import agricultural products, so if Vietnamese businesses improve their farming and processing practices to meet the required EU certificates, I believe this will be a reliable destination for international importers."
