“Short term contract workers, migrant workers and informal economy workers remain largely uncovered and protected by the law”
Objectives
As part of the Oxfam multi-country programme in Lao, Cambodia and Vietnam, the project helps the organised marginalised workers in Vietnam, particularly women, be able to exercise their rights and increase their economic and social resilience by influencing relevant decision makers to expand, finance, and deliver social protection more effectively and more equitably.
- An increased number of existing migrant and informal worker organizations, and their capacity to represent workers, particularly in discussions on social protection are strengthened;
- Social organizations and other stakeholders are more efficient and effective at collaborating to support migrant workers.
- Social organizations play a stronger role in the policy-making process and better monitor the implementation of social protection policies to extend adequate coverage for migrant and informal workers.
