Purpose of the documentation
The book is a documentation product that records and highlights Oxfam’s and partners’ activities, achievements, and impacts in advocating for workers’ rights.
The book should work as a thematic track record of Oxfam in Vietnam in this field, which supports us in reporting to our donors & partners and in future fundraising activities. Selected content of the book should also serve as a potential communication product to raise awareness of the public.
Key audiences include:
- Current and potential donors
- Civil society organizations
- International NGOs
- The private sector
- Social and mass Media for selected content of the book
- Public audience for selected content of the book
Scope of work
Most of the data and stories are already in place and can be in different formats (reports, recordings, videos, books, etc.). The consultant(s) is expected to collect and compile them, and then re-write them so that the final book is comprehensive, cohesive, and engaging. The consultant is also responsible for polishing photos and writing to meet high-quality standards and design the final photo book.
The consultant may be expected to go on field trips and collect more stories, data, and photos if doing so is necessary for a better product.
Required content
- The below content must be included in the book, but the order of structure is subject to change as per the consultant’s advice.
- Describe changes in workers’ capacity and their life and how changes happened
- Describe changes in government policies and how changes happen
- Describe changes in private sector and how changes happened
- Describe changes in social organizations and how changes happened
Quality/Content Control:
- The book will be written in both Vietnamese and English. All information in the book needs to incorporate consent, authenticity, sensory, and cultural relevancy factors.
- The book should be between 30-40 pages, including text, photos, and references.
- Oxfam owns the copyright and has editorial control over the content and images produced. All information provided to the consultant must be kept confidential.
Requirements
- Fluent in Vietnamese and English;
- At least five years of professional experience in writing and editing, with a background in social issues, workers rights, workers policies is an advantage;
- Proven experience of similar scope and topic is preferable;
- Proven experience in working with international organizations is preferable;
- Having prior experience with Oxfam’s project is an advantage;
- Able to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks;
- Proactive, resourceful, and meticulous.

- The consultants/company’s profile/CVs and related experience
- Samples of relevant works
- 01 technical proposal that provides a detailed description and explanation of proposed methodologies, work plan and timeline, team members and their qualifications, role/tasks of members, and any other resources that the consultant will make available to execute the assignment
- 01 financial proposal that specified number of working days required with consultancy rate and proposed budget for logistics
- 02 contacts for references
