Consultancy For GRAISEA 2 Documentary Movie

Purpose of the movie

The documentary film is expected to:

▪ Improve a common understanding of the rice-shrimp farming model, which is a low-carbon, climate change-adapted farming method that is suitable for small-scale farmers

▪ Highlight the project’s role and interventions in implementing and promoting the model

▪ Induce discussion on the investment of enterprises and cooperatives in rice-shrimp rotation production, and policy implications to promote and replicate it in the Mekong Delta

The film will be shown at conferences, meetings, and hopefully be used in local TV channels. 

Target audience: businesses and farmers in shrimp & rice, relevant government agencies, development organizations, donors, the public. 

 

Required contents

The film must include key contents:

• Overview of the rice and shrimp production landscape before the project interventions

• The overall introduction of shrimp-rice farming model

▪ What it is and how it functions

▪ What are its benefits to farmers and businesses? How is it suitable for the specific localities?

▪ How is it being deployed in the documented areas?

• 1-2 exemplary stories of cooperatives that have successfully deployed the model. Sharing fromfarmers, SMEs, and project partners. 

• Policy implications: calling for favorable conditions for replicating the model of rice-shrimp rotation production

The consultant is welcome to suggest changes and a proper structure for the film, based on existing materials.

 

Scope of work

The consultant will: 

• Research on the project’s documents and communication products, work with GRAISEA and communications teams to understand the project and how the film contributes to the project’s objective(s). 

• Research on the existing footages and images, to develop a direction and detailed script

• Collage and produce a final movie based on agreed script, and existing materials

• Make use of infographic, animation, and other techniques to produce film that are cohesive, storytelling, and easy-to-understand 

• Be responsible for all postproduction for the finest quality (including translation for English subtitle)

 

Deliverables:

• 01 (one) film

• Genre: documentary

• Duration for the film: 5 minutes

• The movie will have Vietnamese voice-over and English subtitles

• High quality in audio and visual effects

All information in the movies need to incorporate consents, authenticity, sensory, and cultural relevancy factors. Oxfam owns the copyright and has editorial control over the content, footages, and moviesproduced. All information provided to the consultant must be kept confidential. 

 

Requirements 

• At least seven years of professional experience in filming and production, especially in project documentation, with background in development, value chain, private sector engagement, aquaculture is an advantage;

• Proven experience of similar scopes and topics is preferable;

• Ability to work with people and gather meaningful information;

• Able to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks;

• Proactive, resourceful, and meticulous.
